Rolex GMT Master II 40mm 16713T (2005)

The Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 16713 is a standout piece from Rolex’s golden era of dual-time travel watches. With its 40mm stainless steel case enhanced by 18ct yellow-gold accents, the watch balances robust performance and timeless luxury. The black dial features luminous Mercedes-style hands and applied hour markers framed in gold, offering excellent contrast and legibility.  A black aluminum bezel insert, paired with yellow-gold fluting, allows for quick tracking of a second time zone using the 24-hour GMT hand.
This particular reference with the letter “T” in the model, refers to a transitional piece. It incorporated aspects of the earlier models and the models to follow. Gone are the lug holes and Tritium dial, replaced with smooth lugs and SuperLuminova filled lume plots and hands. As a 2005 reference, the laser engraved watermark of the crown sits at 6 o’clock on the crystal and inside beats the Calibre 3185 – the last rendition of the serial, before the limited introduction of the Calibre 3186. The Rolex Calibre 3185 is an automatic movement with an independently adjustable GMT hand—ideal for frequent travelers. Fitted with a two-tone Oyster bracelet combining brushed steel and polished yellow-gold center links, the 16713 represents the perfect blend of tool-watch heritage and elegant versatility. It not recommended for more than splash resistance and is not suitable for swimming and underwear submersion.
