The Omega Speedmaster “Apollo XI 30th Anniversary”, reference ST 145.0223, is a commemorative Moonwatch made in 1999 to honour the 30th anniversary of the 1969 Apollo 11 lunar landing. This watch retains the classic Speedmaster look: a black dial with three subdials and a black tachymeter bezel, housed in a 42 mm stainless steel case. However, it features a special solid caseback engraved with the iconic words from Neil Armstrong’s first transmission back to Earth: “Hello Houston, Tranquility Base Here, The Eagle Has Landed – July 21, 1969, 02:56 GMT.” The movement is the trusted manual-wind Calibre 1861, delivering the same heritage chronograph feel as vintage Moonwatches. Produced in a limited run of 9,999 pieces, this edition is a subtle but meaningful celebration of space history and Omega’s role in it.
