The Breitling Chronomat is a watch that has withstood the test of time. This watch was worn in World War II, withstood the quartz crisis, was reinvented after the company went under, and today is recognised as one of the brand’s most popular and beloved watches. The Chronomat was a patented design introduced in 1940 by Willy Breitling and the worlds’ first two-pusher chronograph wristwatch. The first model of the Chronomat collection had a circular slide rule and its design followed the appeal and design cues of the era for military watches.

Relaunched in 1984, the Chronomat celebrated Breitling’s centenary in style and marked the return of the mechanical chronograph. The Chronomat used to be a watch designed for scientists and mathematicians but was rebranded as a pilot’s watch, and now an everyday sports watch. Breitling added to their iconic collection in 2004 with the Breitling Chronomat Evolution and thereafter the Chronomat model released in 2009 was the first watch to be entirely produced by Breitling and features the in-house Caliber B01 movement.
